A much-changed Eagles side arguably had the better of the chances in an end-to-end contest against an energetic Middlesbrough team in SE25.
But it was a headed brace from Strand Larsen – capitalising on excellent deliveries from Óscar Mingueza and Ben Chilwell – which set the home side on their way.
With the clock running down, Strand Larsen then turned provider with a cute turn and pass to set Daichi Kamada running clear – the Japan international producing a delightful lob to round off the scoring.
Strand Larsen was also a menace throughout, winning a match-high six aerial duels; teeing up another opportunity with a lovely flick for Yéremy Pino; winning two free-kicks for his side; and also making three clearances at the other end.
